Freak.

The word echoed through Gwen's head for who knows how long. It was a label that seemed to follow her around wherever she went. It was a trait of hers that she couldn't escape no matter what, and she had to live with the label.

"What would my life be like if I was normal like everyone else?" Gwen pondered, peering down at her feet to meet a pair of missed-matched multi-colored stockings.

She flopped on her comforter and gazed up at the ceiling in her bedroom. "Maybe I should try to be normal, so I would be able to fit in?" she concluded, as a swarm of chuckles exited her mouth. Gwen knew all too well that that was never going to happen.

Gwen snatched her Nyan Cat pillow, which had been resting on her bed, and held it up to her face. "Would people like me more if I was normal?" she questioned the stuffed creature. She imagened the animal giving her a simple response of "No." and she groaned to the sedentary object, "What do you know?"

Then the young teenager tossed the pillow in the air, letting it collide with the bed, for telling her an inadequate answer; before daydreaming about fitting in. Fitting in like her suburban house with all the other houses, which inhabited the outskirts of the bustling city of Houston, Texas.

Gwen rushed her fingers through her long brown hair, smoothing out the pesky tangles. She imagened a scenario if she was normal and fitted in and a sudden realization hit her like a runaway high-speed truck. Being normal would be uneventful and boring; while fitting in would mean she would be the same as everyone else and there would be no variety. Gwen loathed the whole idea.

Because the fact, she had fangirled over a children's sitcom, had a flamboyant and colorful fashion sense, and still had loved My Little Pony, whom Rainbow Dash was her all-time favorite; does that make her a freak? Yes!

Being a freak is what made her who she was and an individual. How can she not be a freak with the name Gwenyth Florence Poletti?

A bright grin flooded her face, maybe being a freak wasn't so dreadful? She felt a sense of pride seeping in. The word freak hadn't sounded so horrible had it once earlier, actually it felt warm and inviting! A freak was who she was and she would not change that fact for the world.

"I'm a freak!" Gwen's voice full of new found pride, being a freak never felt so awesome.
A small character reference and pratice for one of my minor OC's Gwenyth "Gwen" Poletti!

Gwen belongs to me!
